Credit Union Teller

Position summary: Fergus Federal Credit Union is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Teller to join our branch team. The Teller serves as the first point of contact for members, providing accurate and efficient teller transactions, promoting credit union products and services, and maintaining compliance with policies and regulations. This role requires strong cash-handling skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering friendly, professional member service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Process routine financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, and transfers.

  • Accurately handle cash, checks, and negotiable items; balance cash drawer daily.

  • Update member accounts, verify identification, and complete necessary paperwork.

  • Promote and refer members to appropriate credit union products and services based on needs.

  • Resolve routine member questions and concerns; escalate issues to supervisors as needed.

  • Maintain compliance with BSA/AML, privacy, and internal control procedures.

  • Assist with credit union operations tasks such as vault maintenance, coin orders, and paperwork filing.

  • Participate in training and staff meetings; support team goals and credit union initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous cash-handling or teller experience preferred; customer service experience required.

  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with financial software or core systems a bonus.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory requirements.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours.
